By the close of 1943 it became obvious to anyone who could read a newspaper that the tide of war was turning in favor of the Allies. This article concludes that this event was not due to one element alone – various factors had combined to drive the Axis backwards. Principal among them was the creation of superior aircraft and artillery – in addition to a seasoned infantry.
