Posted on the right is a report from Newsweek Magazine that announced the August 21, 1945 liberation of three Doolittle Raiders who had been in captivity since April 18, 1942. Often kept in solitary confinement, the men were refused their Red Cross packages, denied writing material to write home and seldom allowed to bathe.
