Various, assorted yarns told by liberated Allied prisoners as to the types of games played in Japanese prison camps between bouts of malaria, dysentery and gangrene:
“As far as I know we played the Japanese in the first softball game between enemy teams in this war….We walloped the daylights out of ’em and scored 27 runs in the first inning.”sumo men. These sumo wrestlers weigh about 300 pounds and are very agile…”
This was NOT the first time that a Japanese baseball team had faced Americans.
